Hello:
My 2xgreat Grandfather, Thomas Cosgrove, with his brother and sister, Hugh Cosgrove and Eliza Cosgrove emigrated to the U.S. around 1850. It appears that they came from County Down, because two sisters remained. The families of those two sisters are well documented in a Last Will and Testament of Hugh Crosgrove in New London, Connecticut in 1893.
The family came to the U.S. using the name Cosgrove, but by the 1880’s were exclusively using the surname Crosgrove. While in Ireland in the 1860’s the family was using the surname Croskery.
The youngest sister, Sarah Croskery married James Brownlee in Lisburn, Antrim on 15 October 1860. Attending the marriage is the father, George Croskery, my 3x Great Grandfather. I have been told that both Sarah Croskery and James Brownlee state that they are living in Magheradrool, County Down at the time of the marriage, although I have only seen the index and not the entire marriage record to verify the parish or residence. How do I request a copy of this marriage record?
In my 2x Great Grandfather's death certificate, Thomas Crosgrove, his father is named as George Cosgrove - verifying the father’s name in the marriage of Sarah Croskery. No name is provided for the mother. I have not been able to located George Cosgrove/Croskery or his spouse with certainty.
The oldest sister, Ann C. Cosgrove married George Bennett at the Inch Church of Ireland, Inch Parish, County Down on 9 October 1838. I have also posted a message in the Inch Parish, Down site.
Can someone in Magheradrool, County Down help with any additional information and possibly confirm the parish for the Cosgrove/Crosgrove/Croskery family.
Thank you, Mary B

Dear Mary
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I just wanted to confirm for you that Sarah and James married in the parish of Lisburn on 15-Oct-1860. Sarah and James recorded their address as Magheradrool. James was a widower at the time of his marriage to Sarah and was aged 47. She was aged 27. James was a Labourer.
James' father, also named James was a Labourer too while Sarah's father was named as George, also a Labourer. If you would like to get a copy you can do the following:
Go to this link http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/index/information-and-services/government-ci…;
I wasn't able to locate a marriage for Ann and George.
Hope the above helps
