I am searching for my husband's GGGrandparents. They are Henry Brownlee and Anne McKane (or McKean). Married 11 Aug 1851 in Tullylish Parish Church,Co.Down. I have their marriage certificate and it gives his father as Hugh Brownlee (Weaver) and her father William McKane (Weaver).

I assume they moved away after their marriage, as their children were baptised in Limerick Methodist Church - Catherine 1854, Paul 1855, Elizabeth 1860, Jane 1863, Mary Dorothea 1865, Henry William 1868.

My husband's Great Grandfather (Paul) first appears on the 1881 Census in Liverpool, but I cannot trace what happened to the rest of the family and I am wondering if they moved back to the Tullylish area, or abroad. I may have found Henry William in New Jersey, USA, but I have no link proving he's the son (born 1868).

I would like to find out if Tullylish was the Mc Kane family Parish or the Brownlee family Parish. I cannot find any information about either family, having searched for many years. Hoping the Parish Records may have a nugget of information to point me in the right direction. Thank you.

    The link below has the 1863 head of household listing from the Griffiths Valuation survey for Tullylish civil parish. There is a Nathaniel Brownlee in Drumaran townland. There are also three William McKeon entries.

    I did find McKane/McKain records in other parts of Co. Down including a William McKain in Ballymacateer townland Magherlin civil parish
