Hello.
Does anyone know if there is a connection between the Kerrs of the early 19th century at Malahide and Swords in County Dublin?
I have tried finding the parents of Richard Carr/Kerr who married Mary Clegg.
Richard and Mary Kerr's son William was baptised on July 30th 1812 in Swords parish.
John and Dorothea Kerr's son William was baptised on August 26th 1812 in Malahide. Does anyone know if John and Richard Kerr were brothers or cousins?
The Kerrs apparently came to the Dublin area from Scotland as shipbuilders. Not sure if that is true.
Best regards,

Welcome to IrelandXO Evan,
Oh my, your Ancestor is way back in the 1700's.
The only item I could find for you is Richard and Mary's marriage cert, however, back then they only gave the very basic information. ie - no parents mentioned and no sponcers named. Sorry. They both came from Swords in 1794 and I could find nothing regarding the Shipbuilding business.
The marriage certificate was found on the subscription website roots..Clonpriest, IrelandXO Volunteer
