The family story is this: There were three Daniels sisters born in Dublin. Their mother died. Their father remarried and this step-mother died. Their father left the children in Dublin and went to England to find work and never returned.
We have found three sisters in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada
Teresa Jane Daniels born 12 Jan 1875, Place:No. 2 South City, City of Dublin, Ireland
Mary Catherine Daniel(s) born 30 Jul 1872, Place as above
Josephine S. Daniels no information found in Ireland yet.
We have found, in the Irish Ancestry records, a brother and another sister,
Thomas John Daniel(s) born 8 Aug 1873 Place: Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
Annie Mary Daniel born 14 Sept 1878, Place: Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
The family story continues that another sister stayed in Dublin as a Roman Catholic Nun.
Could this be Annie Mary Daniel (s)?
The parents of these siblings were Thomas Joseph Daniel (s) and Mary Jane Murphy.
Where can we find additional information about this family in Ireland?
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks, Anna

first of all try seaching on this site for mary daniel.
ROMAN CATHOLIC: Most Catholic records are held locally - One site which might be of use is -http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/ - where you can ?browse? an overview of availablerecords per county. If you have any difficulty, you could try writing to the parish priest for possibleassistance. The next thing you could do is find the counties and places in Ireland your family names are mostprevalent. Look at the website http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/surname/ and perhapssomething will match some other clue you may have found elsewhere? If nothing turnsup ? it is advisable to try different variations of the spellings of the names. If you have a possiblefirst name you could try the Irish Census 1901, 1911 at www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ or the landvaluation record called Griffiths Valuationhttp://askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml Also try these links good luck sir. The National Archives of Irelandhttp://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/ The National Library of Irelandhttp://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx Irish Newspaper Archives:http://www.irishnewsarchive.com/
SURNAME SEARCH You can check for information about the frequency of the name in the mid-19thcentury and any other variant spellings of the name here: http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/surname/
