    Hello Patricia,

    Thanks for your message,

What other information is on the marriage certificate? Are both the father’s names recorded?

You could look for a civil record of the marriage, which could provide more information. Civil registration records are available from the General Register Office (GRO). These start from 1864. You can access the website here: http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm

Have you tried to find any of the people you mention in your message on the 1901 and 1911 census? You can find them here: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,

    Michael, Genealogy Support.

  • Thank you for your reply Martin's fathers name is Martin Doyle he is noted as 'dead' on the marriage cert, Mary Anne's father is Thomas Brady. The only one mentioned on the 1901 census is Mary Anne as a widow with 4 children, Martin 14, Christopher 10, Mary Anne 7 and Eliza 5. If anyone has any information on either the Doyle or Brady family I would be grateful Thanks Trish
