Seeking any information on John Cassidy b. c. 1816. died 18 Dec 1903, husband to Elizabeth Timmons,b. 1827, died 11 Feb 1909.  They had twelve children and lived in Eshbralley.  John was a farmer, possible father was Patt, but would like to confirm. I have no idea who Elizabeth's parents were. One daughter, Jennie, immigrated to New York City -- she was my great grandmother.  Other siblings marriages that I know of are Louisa, b. 1869, married James Smyth and they lived in Lisnagole.  Aother child, Alice, b. 1872, married Owen Maguire in Maguiresbridge in 1896 and they moved to County Cavan. I have searched the Aghalucher parish records through the Family History Library.

Any information would be much appreciated.

  • Do you have any idea where they worshipped?  I would think it would probably be Donagh or Lisnaskea?

  • I believe Lisnaskea; Alice Cassidy and Owen Maguire were married in the R.C. Chapel in Maguiresbridge.

  • Hello! Jane ("Jennie") Cassidy is my husband's g-grandmother! On the Parochial Register of Aghalurcher Parish1835-1881, she was baptised on 14 Nov 1853, her godparents were Mary Cassidy and James NcNeary or McNilly. I show her brother John as being born on 5 Sep 1861 and baptised three days later, with his godparents being Patrick Cassidy and Alice Maguire. (Same source).  She left Ireland for New York when she was about 19 (don't know why) and married John Joseph Hettrick (of German descent) about 1882.  They had 4 children.I would dearly love to share information with you.  If you will end me your email address, I will send you an invitation  to my family tree on ancestry.com.  My email address is jparks1393@aol.com. I'm so excited to hear from you!  I live in North Carolina, USA.Regards, Julie Parks
