I am seeking anyone with information or related to the Vance family in Aughalurcher between 1740's and 1850s....All COI.... Names are
Fleming 1804-1884 who was a weaver and his brother
Robert Vance both sons of
Robert dec'd abt 1754 farmer ...and... Sarah Vance dec'd 1769 spinner.
info from Fermanagh Gold courtesy of vignette sage.
I would be greatful of a any hints or tip of where to go next as I am stuck fast.
I have been using irish geneaoligy, LDS, fermanagh gold, archives.ie,gen forum, and many many more, none of these are payment for use sites as I am unemployed.
I also have Fleming Vance buried with
Elizabeth Vance dec'd1872 aged 62 born abt1810
Grace Vance dec'd 1864 aged 72 born abt 1792
I dont know if they were related by marriage to Fleming but Fleming is my ancestor. Fleming had a son Joseph who worked in service in Kilruddery in Bray as a butler. Thank you.

Hi Niamh
I tried www.rootsireland.ie/ for Vance birth/baptism and marriage records but had no luck.
However PRONI (free site) has 75 Vances - just click the name search option.
http://applications.proni.gov.uk/DCAL_PRONI_ProniNames/SearchResults.aspx
I suspect you have seen the Tithe Applotments (1823-37 & free) which have 39 Vances but only 1 in Fermanagh &Griffiths Valuation 1848-64 (free) which has 449 Vances including 14 in Fermanagh
There are 6 Vances in the Irish phone book but none in Fermanagh
