Hi. I am researching my Young/Knox side of the family.I know that Mary Knox (father Andrew Knox) married John M Young in May 1856 at Kilbarron. John M Young was a school Master. They had 10 children, 8 were still living in the 1901 census. The children I found were Charles-1867, David-1869, Ellen/Isabella-1871, William-1873,Andrew-1876,Robert Alexander-1879 & Samuel-1881. William, my husband's grandfather's birth certificate states born Cloughore,Belleek,Co.Fermanagh...24th October 1873. Andrew Knox was living in the Kilbarron area in 1856 as he is on the list of Griffiths Valuation for Kilbarron Parish. John & Mary spent most of their married life in the area and John M Young died around 1916 at Cloughore(Clyhore). Mary died earlier but don't have any info of her death etc. We have been to Clyhore/Belleek and have been shown where they lived but didn't have the time to get more info.I am also looking for any info on Mary Knox/Andrew Knox. Any help would be appreciated.

With regards to Andrew, have you tried searching for him in church records? Most Catholic records are held locally. One website which may be of help to you is the irishtimes. Here they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Belleek/Carn parish follow this link:
As you can see from this page the baptism records for Belleek don't start until c. 1850, which is obviously after Andrew was born. It may be an idea to check the records of neighbouring parishes. New parishes were created in the 19th century so sometimes these start dates can be misleading. Follow this link to see a map of parishes in Fermanagh. Simply click on the parish to see what records are available:
You may be able to find his marriage record in Belleek parish. In addition to date, names of couple and names of witnesses, marriage records also sometimes contain residences, occupations and father's names.

Have you heard of the Tithe Applotment Books? This was an earlier land survey that was carried out in Ireland (1823-1838) You can search this here:
