Hi,I am trying  to find my GGGrandparents Michael Kelly and his wife Catherine nee O'Neill.I know they lived in Dunmore when they had their children as i have all baptisms for them. The thing is i can't find a mariage for them in or around Dunmore and i was hopeing some one could help me find them. They lived in a place called Clonfean Dunmore when they had their family.Childrens Names are as follows       Sarah b1835, Bridget b 1836, Patrick 1837, John b1838-1839, John b 1840,Michael b 1843 and Mary b 1845.I do know  that some of the family came to the North East of England as John b1840 was my GGrandfather and he married Bridget Allan from Newcastle and they lived in Jarrow County Durham in 1881census.I can't get any further with my tree until i find out where Michael and Catherine were born and Married.I have been searching for them for over 5 years now to no avail. There was talk in the family that Michael may have came from Mayo but not sure..Thank you

  • Hi

    Thank you for your message.

    You might try checking:

    http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/rcparishmaps/index.cfm?fuseact…

for an over-view of what records MAY be available for Dunmore and where they are located. You could also try Browsing information for other areas that you think the family may have ties to.

If you haven't already- you might try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp

Failte Romhat has lots of other useful links you could try looking at ). www.failteromhat.com

Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you.

Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,
