My Great-Great Grandfather James CONROY was born approximately 1815. He joined the British Army in Enniskillen at age 18 in 1835. His profession was that of a tailor. His regiment, the 27th Foot Regiment, left for South Africa in 1835. Where was he born and who were his parents?
This would be before civil registration. Therefore, without knowing what parish he was from it would be like looking for a needle in a hay stack.
