Hello, everyone.  I realize that this is a bit of a stretch (due to it being so long ago), but would anyone know anything about a Hugh McOsker who emigrated from Drumskinny, Fermanagh?  He would have gone sometime around 1820 to the U.S.  - Michael McOsker.

  • The surname’s likely to be McCusker in Fermanagh. None in Griffiths Valuation for Drumskinny in 1862.

You don’t say what denomination the family were. If Church of Ireland the parish records start in 1801. (Copy in PRONI, Belfast).  If RC they start in 1851.

Michael, Hugh McOsker was born March 15, 1787, and immigrated to America on April 26, 1826. If you get me your email address, I can send you a copy of his immigration documents.

Hugh was my ggg grandfather, and I visited Drumskinny in 2013. I believe McOsker (meaning "Son of Oscar") began with Oscar Mag Udhir, great grandson of the first Maguire prince of Fermanagh.
