Hi

My oldest brother, my husband and I are travelling to Ireland for the first two weeks of Sept. and will be in Enniskillen, Ferrmaugh County around Sept 3rd.  My mother's side of the family emigrated from there but I am having no luck finding any info from records suggested.  If you could help I'd be most grateful.   Here's what info. I've been able to acquire.

My great, great, great grandfather's name was Nobel Cluff who was born (around?) 1780, in Enniskillen, Fermough County.  He married Mary (maiden name unknown) in the early 1800's and they emigrated to Canada with their 11 children.  Mary (mother) died during the crossing.

Their one son Robert Cluff married Ann Johnson and they settled on what was to become the family farm (as I know it), in Clinton township, Near Goderich, Ontario, Canada.

They had four children: William(drowned), William, John, and Robert.

John Cluff married Elizabeth Parke and they stayed on the family farm and had two children:  Robert and a girl, name unknown

Robert Cluff married Mary Maude O'Neil and they had four children:  Jack, Elizabeth, Wanda and Constance (Connie), my mother.  They were all raised on the family farm outside of Clinton.

Connie married William Charles (Werner) Barber and they had five children:  William, Robert, Sheila, Sharon, and myself, Maureen

I was brought up aware my Irish roots and grew up with a love of Irish music and dance.  My name, Maureen, is certainly not a common name in Canada.  My brother and I am anxious to see the area where the Cluff name originated from and anything you could tell us would be awesome.

Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to your reply.

Maureen Routhier
