William Magee and family emigrated to Canada about 1817 - 1823 due to the Protestant persecution. I don't have his wife's name or the rest of the family other than Mary Magee. She was born about 1803 or 1804 and was married in New Brunswick, in1824. She is my 2nd Gt. Mother. Canada census of 1881 says she was Wesleyan Methodist.
I appreciate any feedback,
Elly

Dear Elly
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Have you been able or have you yet checked to see if you can get/find a copy of Mary's marriage certificate - if we had some further info it would be most helpful. Do you think you have exhausted all sources your side - it is very likely that you will potentially have more sources your side that there are available here.
Can you guess at William's year of birth? The period of the search is very early so that also presents some issues.
As an aside, you could also have a look at these links, the latter refers to two Magees in the town in the early 1900s:

There were quite a few Magee families in Enniskillen in the mid-1800s:

Thank you Clare, for your help and suggestions. I haven't found anything decisive yet, except for the info below.
I have found that William Brown Murray and Mary Magee were married in St.John, NB, on 22 March 1824. Record at St. Andrews (Church of Scotland) Parish, film #F16239 pg. 326. Witnesses: Josiah Barden and Samuel Osborne.
Mary's father, William Magee, was born, probably between 1765-80. They lived in Enniskillen.

Dear Elly:
Glad to hear that you are making a little bit of progress. Would you consider adding this couple on the XO Chronicles? You might have more luck as other people who read the Chronicles may have information for you.
The link to add/create people is here:

If you need further assistance, please let me know.
All the best,
Jane.

Hello!!! I may have a little bit of info for you. We have recently connected with a branch of the Magee family that we didnt know about. Heres what I know this far. George, Williams brother, emigrated sometime before 1830, with his wife Bessie May. William followed in 1830, as well as Bessies brothers. The brothers arrived in Byetown, ( Ottowa ). George became a skilled ship builder, and his wife was a traveling doctor until her death when her horse died and threw her from it. George and Bessie were burried at the little Churehill United ( Methodist ) church that George helped to build.

Hello Brad: George Magee would be my gr gr grandfather. George and his wife Elizabeth May Graham arrived in St Johns New Brunswick 1827. Bessie May was the daughter of Dr Graham who married the doctor's coachman George. The family disapproved so they left for Canada. William came in 1833 and settled in St Johns with a large family having married Charlotte Portman. One son was named Richard Graham Magee. Bessie May's two brothers might be Robert and Richard Graham who arrived in 1834 on board the ship Zephyr. George and Bessie are buried at Church Hill cemetery and grave stone on Findagrave says they were from Enniskillen. They had several ~7 children. Can you tell me where you got your information? I was unaware the brothers went to Bytown which explains why I could not find them.

Have been unable to confirm that William Magee was George's brother. Bessie May does not have brothers Robert and Richard. Cannot find a brother near Bytown. Will keep looking
