George McKnight was born about 1817 in Enniskillen. He married Mary Smith born about 1820 in Enniskillen before 1839. His parents were listed as James McKnight (abt 1795-bef1851) and Ann Colwell abt 1796- 1870) of Enniskillen. I believe Ann Colwell's father was John Colwell.
The parish often mentioned is Rossory. Are records for this parish available?
The family emigrated before 1839 to Ontario, Canada, as there first daughter was born in Canada.

Hello again!
Were your ancestors Church of Ireland? The C of I records for Rossory parish are not online that I can see. They are available at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland in Belfast https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/proni Records start in 1799. Here is a link to the church web site http://rossorryparish.com/ and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RossorryParishChurch/

Thanks again Roger. They probably were C of I, as they were listed Church of England/Anglican in the Canadian records.

Jerri, does your George McKnight (b 1817) have brother William Mcknight, born in County Fermanagh?
I am looking for William McKnight married to Anne Montgomery 1855 in Aghavea, and their children which i believe are:
William McKnight followed by John McKnight, born 1874 in Brookeborough.
I am palnning a trip to Ireland July and would like to visit Brookeborough.
Thank you.

George:
I don't have a William noted in my research. George Mcknight"s (1817) whole family appears to have left Fermanagh by 1839 and went to Canada.
Perhaps, your McKnight's could be related as cousins.
Enjoy your trip.

George:
Do you have an approx. birth date for your William? Do you have dna results on MyHeritage? (if so I may have information about this family).
