I am trying to trace more details of Edward Curran (or Currin) born around 1840. English census shows he was born in Enniskillen. His father's name was Bernard. Trying to find where in the Enniskillen area he was from. Was in England by the time of 1861 census. Know nothing about Bernard.

Hi,
Thank you for your message, I hope that someone with information contacts you. .
Have you tried looking in church records in Enniskillen to see if you can find any more information? Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. For Enniskillen parish, follow this link:
Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.

hi,
There is no Bernard CURRAN in the 1830s Tithe Apploment list, or in Griffiths Valuation 1858-1860.
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nirfer/1825-1835_tithe_applotment3.htm
There are plenty of CURRANs, CURRINs CURRENs around in 1901 Fermanagh.
I am afraid, unfortunately, I can't get very far without a Townland name for the family.
Regards,
SEAN
