All information is alleged:

William Stinson born in Scotland about 1766, married in Enniskillen, Ireland, Jane Higgins.  Emigrated to Canada prior to 1841 when he died.  It is believed Jane died in Ireland priot to 1841.   5 children born in Ireland.  Believed William (Sr.) sailed from Donegal to Canada prior to 1841.

Charles Stinson (alleged emigrated to Canada with father)

James Stinson (alleged emigrated to Canada with father, went "West")

Margaret Stinson alleged married in Ireland to Knight

Sally Stinson alleged married in Ireland to McManus.  She remained in Ireland and died there.

William Stinson, Jr. born 12 Oct 1819, Enniskillen, emigrated to Canada with his father and 2 brothers, married in Canada and died at Palmyra, Kent County, Ontario, Canada 12 Feb 1909.

    All the events you mention happened before Births, Marriages and Deaths were recorded by the authorities, but you could contact "Ulster Ancestry" to see if there are any Church records for your ancestors marriage and births. They have a website at...

  • I have no documentation for Jane Higgins, just family oral tradition that she was Irish and married William Stinson(Sr) in Enniskillen.
