Info I have (without evidence) is that Robert Taggart, son of William Taggart (b. in Ireland) & Elizabeth Bell (b. in Ireland) was born March 13, 1832 in Colbrooke, Fermanagh Co., Ulster Province.  He married Margaret Anne Abraham, daughter of Thomas Abraham on March 12, 1866 in Ballinamallard Parish, Fermanagh County.  I think that Margaret was born in Curran?

I have been told that Robert Taggart & Margaret Anne Abraham were married on March 12, 1866 in Ballinamallard Parish, Fermanagh. 

They had the following children:

 John Thomas Taggart, b. Mar 1, 1867 in Brookboro, Fermanagh
 Ann Jane Taggart b. Aug 1, 1870 in Brookboro
 Robert James Taggart b. July 1, 1871 in Colbrooke Fermanagh
 William James Taggart b. 1872 in Brookboro, Fermanagh
 Margaret Taggart, b. Dec. 28, 1874, in Brookboro, Fermanagh
Elizabeth Taggart b. April 25, 1875 in Colbrooke FermanaghIreland Reaching Out - www.irelandxo.com
 Robert Arthur Taggart, b. Jan 19, 1878 in Brookboro, Fermanagh 

On some of the pieces of paper I gathered, some spellings of names of places are inconsistent and I am having difficulty trying to narrow the search since I don't really understand the organizational structure.  Ultimately I would like to obtain copies of the primary source documents and be able to identify where these places are so I might visit there in the future.

I'm also trying to locate info on Nancy Patterson and her family, born around 1834 in Brookboro, Fermanagh.daughter of James Patterson and Mary Patterson.  She married Alexander Mitchell who I believe was born in County Cavan around 1820.

    It looks like Ballinamallard and Brookeborough (which would seem to me to be the same place as Brookboro) are in the Roman Catholic diocese of Irvinestown (Clogher). Were they Catholic? If so, there are church records available dating from 1846 for baptismal records and 1851 for marriage records. These are available from the National Library of Ireland, Pos. 5571, from the Public Records of Northern Ireland (PRONI) MIC.1D/14, or from the Church of Latter Day Saints, ref no. 979705 item 7-10.

    Civil records are available from the General Register Office (GRO), but these date from 1864): http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm

    You could also try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) or the later Griffth's Valuation (1848-64). Griffith's is freely available here: www.askaboutireland.com or here: www.failteromhat.com Failte Romhat has lots of other useful links you could try looking at.

    You are absolutely correct about the inconsistency of spelling. This is quite common and you should make sure you check all variants of the names you are looking for.
