Looking for any help with locating information on Patrick Cleary and Margaret Gilroy.  They lived in Fermanagh - PLU of Lisnaskea with 8-9 children.  The first child was born about 1850. After Patrick died Margaret took over the farm and then she died about 1900 when son James managed the farm.  The land was owned by the Earl of Erne.

  • It looks like the family lived in Corravehy townland in Kinawley civil parish. Below is a 1901 census record which shows that Marageret was still living in 1901. I've also attached a 1862 Griffiths Valuation head of household list which shoes a Patrick Cleary living in Corravehy townland. I also found a 1906 death index record for a Margaret Cleary in the Lisnakea registration district. Possibly this is your Margaret. You can write to the GRO and get a copy of the death record www.groireland.ie Fill out their form, provide the registration district , the quarter/year of death and the volume and page number.

  • Roger,

Thanks for the information.  Margarets death seems to fit with what I have found so far. I have also found two death records for Patrick Cleary;one in 1892 and one in 1898 which could be my Patrick. I will send for both in hopes one of them is Margaret's husband.

what recrods did you search to find the information?
