I have hit the genealogical wall. It took me five years to find out where my 3nd Great Grandfather is from, County Fermanagh. Now my trail is dead. Can anyone help? Any ideas? His name is Dennis Maguire, Born about 1813, Married to Ann. His children are Francis Maguire b1832 - d1881, Sarah Maguire b1839 and Ellen Maguire b1840 - d1888. The kids came to Boston, Massachsetts, USA about 1855.

A Denis Maguire died in 1878 and his death is registered in Lisnaskea Jun Qtr 1878 ref 3 - 179. A photocopy of his death certificate can be obtained from gro. However Irish death certificates contain little information - no family details unless the informant was a family member. Age at death stated as 70 but these ages can be well out.
There are two Denis in the Tithes.They are listed as Monaghan - Drummuly parish straddles the Fermanagh/Monaghan border. Lisnaskea would be the Registration Office for parts of Drummully.

Denis Maguire County: Monaghan Parish: Drummully Townland: Roran Year: 1825 Your major problem is that Fermanagh is the home of Maguires, and differentiating your Maguires from others of the same name can be a huge task.
