My Great Grandfather William Plover was born in 1837. I believe it was in Galway. He left for America from Galway on the Bark Clarence in 1855. Hw arrived in New York in May.
He next turned up in Murphy's Camp in California in 1859. Gold mining. He moved on to Gold Hill, Nevada by 1865. Still working the mines. He married Mary Kerrigan and they had 4 surviving son's. He retired in the 1880's and moved to Santa Rosa, CA where he died in 1900.
I am very interested in learning of his early life. Where he lived, his parents and siblings, etc. Any chance you could be of help
Thank You
Pat Plover

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched on Roots Ireland from 1832-1842 in Co. Galway but found no William Plover baptismal records. You posted in Abbeyknockmoy parish so I presume you have info which points to that parish.
The 1855 Griffiths Valuation data for Co. Galway shows that all of the Plovers were in Kilconickny civil parish. This parish is just to the west of Loughrea.
