Researching FORDE family from Annaghdown WIlliam Forde married Margaret Kane and three of their children emigrated to New Zealand. Son John bc1831 arrived first and he sponsored his sister Bridget b c1843 and brother Charles b c1825? to emigrate.
Bridget arrived in NZ aboard the 'Lady Egidia" in 1861 with her brother
Charles Forde. Both sponsored for £8 ea by their brother John Forde of
Papatomoa. Charles eventually returned to Ireland and in the 1901 census was living with his brother in law Bartley Elwood and family.
Bridget married Francis McNelly in New Zealand and had a family of 8 daughters and one son.
