Hello

I am researching my ancestors 'Nealethe Fahy/Fahey/Ruane/O'Neale/O'Neill families.  Thomas Fahy, son of John Fahy and Honora Ruane, came to New South Wales on the ship United Kingdom in 1841.  Thomas was accompanied by his wife, Catherine nee O'Neil or O'neale; daughter of Owen and Mary O"Neale and brothers William, Peter, Edward and James.

John Fahy and his wife are said to have died prior to 1841.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with information regarding these families.

Thank you

Cath Young

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Unfortunately, the RC recorfs for that parish start the year your ancestors left Ireland   http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0326

I will see if we have a parish liaison in that parish.

  • Hi Catheryn,

I am also a descendent of the Fahy/Fahey/Ruane/ONeale/ONeill family. Of the 6 brothers who emigrated to NSW on 25 May 1841, William is my GG Grandfather. I have quite a bit of information on the brothers, but not much on the parents John Fahey and Honora Ruane. If you have any details, that you could share that would be good.

I have lots of information from the Appin Historical Society, which is the final area in NSW where the boys settled.

    Thanks

    Catherine
