On 7 Sep 1841 the Bounty Ship "United Kingdom" arrived in Sydney Australia. Among the many passengers on board were six FAHEY brothers. The eldest Thomas age 26 was accompanied by his young wife Catherine O'Neill age 21. The other brothers were William age 24, Peter age 22, Edward age 21, Timothy age 19 and James age 18, my GG Grandfather. They had been sponsored by A.B.Smith and Company.
According to their Entitlement Certificates, they had all been born in Ballymacward with parents John FAHEY and Honor RUHON.
The brothers married and settled near Campbelltown NSW in a small town named Appin. My GG Grandfather James married an Irish girl Eliza Ann Graham in 1849 She had been born in Shannagh, Donegal in 1929.
I have not been able to find a marriage for John Fahey and Honor Ruhon (This spelling may be incorrect), or birth or baptism dates for the six brothers. Could anyone help with this please? Also I would love to know if there are any Faheys related to this family still around Ballymacward?
Thank you.

Hello Fleeter.
I've been doing a lot of reading about the Menlough and Mount Bellew areas, which are close to Ballymacward.
My guess is that Honor's surname was probably Ruane.
Lots of people by the name of Fahey/Fahy, Ruane and Honor in the Menlough and Mount Bellew areas.
Cheers, WllieBlacksmith.

This person seems to know a bit about John Fahey and Honor Rowan Ruane:

Kevin (at the end of this message) is a Ruane from Ballymacward, Moylough and Mount Bellew, with Timothys in the family:

Hi Peter.
I too have quite a bit of information on the Fahey brothers. Maybe we can compare notes?

I have a Thomas Fahey who came out to NZ from Australia's NSW in about 1860. He married a Mary Kearney from Ballynacourty, Galway, whom he met in NZ in 1862.
Hunting any info.
