Hello Group Members. I am Searching for the specific homeland of my great grandfather Laurence Mannion who was born in County Galway in about 1830 and emigrated to America before 1850. The only homeland information we have is from an address in a journal for a Darby, Darley or Farley ( may actually be Dermot) Mannion
White Post Office or is it White Park (may really be Clonbern)
Kars Glannamiada (Glennamaddy?)
County Galway, Ireland
Any information you can provide would be appreciated.
Attached is a document that copies a response I received from the Abbeyknockmoy group. It has some suggestions including that the place he came from and was writing to might actually be Clonbern.
Thank you, Beata Welsh

As you know, church records are not available. I looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Clonbern parish http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/galway/clonbern.htm I would focus on Parkbaun Mannions. Darby/Dermot and Jeremiah are connected and there is a Jeremiah Mannion in Parkbaun. There is also a Lawrence who possibly is an uncle to the 1830 Laurence.
