Hello, I haven't been on the list in awhile. It is good to be back. We are finally getting back into sorting through all the genealogy information we collected while in Ireland last spring. Thanks to Jane Halloran Ryan for all her help & congratulations on the award you received Jane in 2013...which I just saw.

My g-g-grandfather Cornelius Loughery of Galway emigrated to the USA in 1850 or so. On his death certificate he states his parents are Martin Loughery & Katie Pine/Pyne.

We have spent countless hours looking for the Loughery family with some success BUT we don't know where to start looking for Katie (Katherine) Pine/Pyne. While in Ireland many people we asked said the Pines are from Tubber but what about back in the 1830's or before.

Any help or direction appreicated.

  • Hello, I see you are looking for more recent information. There appear to be Pyne survivor to this woman who died in 2013. I pulled this from the Parish on Irelandxo while searching for my Meade Meere Family. Best wishes in your hunt.

You are asked to remember in prayer Maureen O?Grady (n?e Nagle) Main Street, Kildysart who died on 30 August 2013. Maureen will repose at her home from 5pm to 8pm Sunday 1 September. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St Michael?s Church, Kildysart on Monday 2 September at 12 noon followed by interment in Kildysart cemetery. May the Lord grant her eternal rest and comfort her children Mary (Pyne), Anne (Butler), Claire (O?Donoghue), Mair?ad (O?Neill), Michael, Padraig & Niamh and all who mourn her.

  • Thank you Beth! It's a little more 'current' than I wanted but it is a place to start. At least we know the family name is still a round.

I was hoping someone knew of Pyne/Pine families back in the 1800's....

I rembered the surname because it's unusual. If the posts are a bother please let me know. I realize they are not exactly on subject.
