Clarke Heritage

Hello, my name is Christopher Brown and I live in Auckland, New Zealand. My late Grandfather was Charles Clarke and my Grandmother was Bridget Clarke nee Balfe. They both lived on Golden Hill Manor Kilbride. From research I have done so far my grandfather family came from and lived in Manor Kilbride. This request is based on the Clarkes as that seems to be where their ancestry comes from. I have got information that shows my Grandfather, Charles Clarke, was born on 2 May 1878. His father, also Charles Clarke, was born about 1836 and married Elizabeth Artery, b abt 1839, on 19th November 1863. I have been given a list of baptisms from the Blessington Catholic Register 1852 – 1900 for the Clarkes who are the same generation as my grandfather, Charles Clarke. It has a number of different surnames for his mother Elizabeth Artery. I also have a mention of the wedding between Charles and Elizabeth that happened on 19th Nov 1863 at Boystown, Valleymount. Would this have been because Elizabeth came from that parish?? This is where I found out both parenst names - Thomas Artery and Jane Artery, nee Twiford are the parents of Elizabeth, Dennis Clarke and Mary Clarke nee Kennedy are the parents of Charles Clarke. All the above information came from Janet Halligan. She tells me that it is difficult to go back further for Catholic families. Are you able to supply me with any further information about them to point me in the direction to look??
