Hi there,
I will forward on your query to some local historians who might be able to help answer your question.
Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.
Kind regards,

Hello,
can you provide any further information on this possible battle? Is there some form of marker at the place? How did you hear of it in the first place? Often an event such as this would have found its way into the School's Folklore Collection undertaken in the 1930s. It may be well worth your while checking out this wonderful source of material, either at The Irish Folklore Commsission, University College Dublin or at Galway County Library, Nuns Island, Galway. Do check the arrangements for viewing in advance of visiting however. This can be done by making a phone call or by email to either institutions. You will get their contact details by dong a quick Google search. The staff at both institutions are highly professional and very helpful and will point you in the right direction.
