I am looking for where my Ladden or Liddane ancestors hail from. Hugh Liddane married an O'Connor from Scartaglen. Their son, Bryan or Brian, married someone with the last name of Mangan. Their son, Charles Liddane or Ladden, married a Mary Keliher. Their son, Patrick Ladden, married a woman named Mary Long. Their son, Patrick Ladden, married a women named Anne Murphy ( her mother was a McGillity). I believe Anne Murphy was also from Scartaglen. This brings me to my maternal grandfather, Charles Ambrose Ladden. He was a first generation American. Some of his siblings were born in Ireland. My husband and I are travelling to Ireland later this year and would like to visit where my ancestors lived. Thanks, Mary

Mary:
Do you know when your Liddane/Ladden ancestors emigrated to the USA? I looked at the 1901 census and there were only two Liddane families and they were in Kilcummin parish. There was also one Ladden family in another parish. See links below.

I believe 1881 is when they emigrated. Two brothers went to Australia, Mike and Charles. John moved to Cork, Brian went to the US, Mary married a John Grady and my great grandfather, Patrick, married Anne Murphy and went to the US.
Thanks for the info

Mary:
The 1852 griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilcummin parish shows two Liddane entries: John and Patrick. They were both living in Buddaghauns townland, the same townland shown in the 1901 census.

Thanks, for this information. Someone gave me information that the house my great grandfather was born in was in the town of Buddaham, and I could not find a town by that name. Some of my extended relatives have been to the home to see it. The home passed eventually to a non-blood relative and still stands. I am just curious what the area looks like. Great to have the ancestral links, I have entered much of my geneology that I know onto Ancestry.com.
Is it possible to find out information on other family? O'Connor, Mangan, Murphy all are from the Kilcummin Parish. O'Connor and Murphy were both from Scartaglen, from what I have been told. Anne Murphy would be my great grandmother.
Thank you so much, Roger.
