This message is now posted at both Kilthomas parish and Peterswell parish.
We see that both Kilthomas and Peterswell are listed as parishes here at "Ireland Reaching Out", so we will need to investigate which particullar location is being refered to by the reference. Do they mean both parishes? Or, which one is the intended notation? do they overlap, or did they change boudaries or names over time? Or why does "Ireland Reaching Out" have two names for the same parish? Is that a common trait throughout ireland, and if so, how can we know which ones are duplicate in the Parish list here at this site, or is there a cross reference within such parishes?

Hi Cr,
All of the memorials in the Kilthomas graveyard have been recorded as part of the Galway Digital Graveyard Mapping Project undertaken by communities in conjunction with the Heritage Office at Galway County Council. The records will shortly be online via the councils website. I can confirm that there is a Hearn headstone in the graveyard as I remarked on its presence at the time I saw it. The main area for Hearn family members in Co Galway is in Killimor parish, near Portumna. I will get back to you with the full details after a week or so once I manage to access the data. Best of luck with your researches.
Regards,
Christy C.

Hi all
I am trying to trace the family of Bridget Kenny
Bridget married Patrick Callanan (1841-1903) from Gortnanark Peterswell .
From the 1901 census she was born circa 1844. I am boldly assuming given the time frame, that she married locally. There are no Kenny families in the area during the 1901 or 1911 census, but there are three shown in the 1826 tides
Michael from Ballynahowna, William from Drumminacoosaun, James in Hollymount upper.
The Griffith census shows Michael from Ballynahowna and William from Drumminacoosaun,
Patrick and Bridget had 5 Children
Their first child Mary born in in 1865 married Michael Cunningham Lisadoyle
John born in 1867 (My Grandfather) married Mary Minogue. Gortacornane
Thomas born 1870
Honora born 1875 married Thomas Gill Caherrmore, Ardrahan
Bridget born 1880 married Michael Casey Lisbrien
Thanking you for any help

it's been years since your original post, but I would like to know more about your connections to the Kinney/Kenney/Kenny family members in Louisville, KY. I have recently tied them to some persons in my family tree. My information shows that Bridget Swift, born perhaps around 1805 in County Galway (Peterswell) married William Kenny (her name appears in U.S. records as Kinney). She and some of her children lived in Louisville, KY. I'd like to know your connection or at least the information you may have gathered in this past years.
