Hello- I am trying to locate any Irish records related to the birth or baptism for the children of my great great grandparent, Patrick Kane/Cain/Kain and Ellen Deele. US obituaries for several for their children state they were born in Loughrea and immigrated to the United States. Following is the information I have formed from records here:
1. Daughter Sarah born in Loughrea Novemeber 1821 and immigrated about 1842.
2. Son James born about 1825. He married Bridget Caddigan about 1843 and he died late 1850 in Ireland according to his daughter Ellen's obituary. After James death his wife Bridget and their 4 daughters immigrated in 1850 and settled in Illinois. Daughters born in Cloominda, Galway were: Cathernine born 11 November 1845, Margaret born January 1847, Mary Elizabeth born 3 January 1848, and Ellen Bridget born 19 November 1849.
3. Daughter Hannah born in Loughrea 28 April 1826 and immigrated in 1870.
4. Son Martin born 6 January 1828 and immigrated in 1845.
5. Son Michael, my great grandfather, born 12 February 1830 and immigrated in 1852.
6. Son John born May 1832 and immigrated about 1855.
7. Son Stephen born about 1835 and immigrated about 1855.
8. Daughter Anna born August 1837 and according to her obituary she immigrated with her parents at age 13 in 1850.
9. Son William for whom I have been unable to determine a birth date based on any United States records. He was married in Illinois in 1860 so I assume he was born about 1839 or earlier. According to his brother Michael's 1907 obituary, Willam was back in Ireland in 1907.
I am also trying to somehow document that James and Stepen are in fact siblings to the other children listed above. Local Illinois records do not allow me to prove they are siblings to the others. However, it seems unlikely that James wife and 4 daughters would end up in the same small Illinois town as the other siblings listed, and that I would be a DNA match as a 3rd cousin to Stephen's great great granddaughter if both James and Stephen were not brothers to the other Kane siblings who settled in Illinois.
Any assistance or direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
