Hi, I'm looking for my 3Xgrandmother. Her name was Bridget Donoughoe. Sge was born on  28 JAN 1810 • Knockaunranny, Rahoon, Loughrea, Galway, Ireland and died on 19 OCT 1893 • Loughwell, Spiddal, Galway, Ireland. I know her father was Matthew Donoughoe and Bridget married John Lydon in Rahoon, Galway in 1835. I am trying to figure out who is her mother and the other siblings are. I thought Bridget was born in Knocknacarra. To be honest, I believe it's in one of the Knock area's. I don't know all of their names. I know of knowcknacarra.

    I have had a difficult time with some Galway searches also.   There are so many names repeated.  Have you tried. the Census records for the Rep. of Ireland ?   Also, I would suggest a try on "Family Search" as well as Geni.com

    In Ireland in 1840' -1890' most Marriages were very local, within townland / adjoining Townland or Parish. People walked or Cycled ! . Your tree on Ancestry has links between Galway City and Clifden ?

    The Marriage record for Patrick Lydon and Judith Kerrigan   https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1868/11452/8207013.pdf clearly indicated Patricks father was Pat Lydon so incorrect to Link to the William St. Galway family of John & Bridget Donoughoe.

    There were many distinct Lydon Families, Lettera Moycullen /  Knockanranny Moycullen / Pollnaclogh Spiddal / Loughwell Moycullen. 

    Do you have an image / document to link your family to an area ? If you have do you mind sharing ?
