.  I have limited information about my grandmother's family and hoped you might be able to direct me to some sources.  The East Galway Family History Society provided the following which uniquely identifies my grandmother's father, mother and three of her brothers:

"...The good news so far is we have located 3 children, Frederick, William and George born to a George Bambury/Banberry or variant and Eliza Bambury/Banberry in our Church of Ireland records in the town of Eyrecourt in a townland called Clonashaise.  This townland is spelt Cloonshease according to the Townland Index of Ireland 1861 and is located within the parish of Clonfert. • Dear David,

Thank you very much fo your query to Ireland Reaching Out. For your information, one part of the family moved to the parish of Tiernascragh, Co. Galway. There were two bachelor men, one of whom was named George. We don't have the name of the other man, but both men were absolute gentlemen.

    Kind regards,

    Sinead Cooney

  • Hi David.

It was great to get your query about the Bamberry family. I am Pat Madden adm of of the Tiernascragh parish page of www.irelandxo.com. I remember Georgie and Willie Bamberry who lived at Shanbally, in the Parish. If you look up the irish census records of 1901 and 1911 for County of Galway Townland of Shanbally you will find the Bamberry family. You can reach the census records at www.nationalarchives.ie. I have spoken to their neiphew John Howard and will email you privately with more detailed information. In the meantime please become a member of the Tiernascragh page of this website.

Expect to hear from me soon.

    Pat Madden.
