Hello all!

Looking for ancestors from Cloonascragh. I have a Patrick Smyth b 1859, his 2nd wife Margaret Rabbitt b 1872. They married Nov 28, 1894. Margaret's mother was Margaret Holian(sp?), Margaret's father Thomas Rabbitt and Patrick's Smyth's dad was Martin Smyth.

    I suggest you have a look at the Tithe Applotments (1823-37 free at titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/) nd Griffiths Valuation (1848-64 free at askaboutireland.ie/) as there are lots of Smyths and Rabbits in Galway

  • Hi,

    I believe Thomas Rabbitt b1834 could be a sibling of my 2x great-grandfather through shared matches but I can't verify that. I have Thomas' marriage to Margaret Holian and my shared matches are descended through their children Michael and Laurence.

    Any information sort on Thomas' parents and siblings please.
