Seeking connections, family members and information about Abigail LYNCH b abt 1789 in "Foyle" (poss Carrigafoyle or in Tralee or??), Co Kerry — possible niece Bridget LYNCH b abt 1820 in Co Kerry — and probable nephew De(n)nis LYNCH b abt 1821 in Co Kerry, who is my g-g-grandfather.

Additional information:

Abigail LYNCH b abt 1789 in "Foyle" (poss Carrigafoyle), Co Kerry — marr abt 1804 Thomas DISSETT(E) b abt 1775 in Askeaton, Co Limerick — moved to Canada and lived near Orillia, Ontario — Thomas' parents Michael DISSETT and Anne DILLANE/DELANE remained in Carrigafoyle and died there.

Abigail is possibly aunt of:

Bridget LYNCH b abt 1820 in Co Kerry — marr Den(n)is O'Connor b abt 1817 in Listowel, Co Kerry — son Dennis Nealon O'CONNOR b abt 1839 in Listowel — all moved to Canada and lived in Toronto, Ontario — Dennis N O'CONNOR marr Anna HEASLIP b abt 1848 in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Abigail is very probably aunt of:

De(n)nis LYNCH b abt 1821 in Co Kerry — marr Ann HAGARTY (sp?) b abt 1838 — her father Jeremiah HAGARTY identified as a tailor — Dennis and Ann(ie) have (at least) children Mary LYNCH b abt 5 Jun 1853 and Annie LYNCH b 8 Feb 1865 — by 1870 something had happened to Dennis and Ann(ie) and both girls were living with relatives — Mary LYNCH with Dennis and Annie O'CONNOR, and Annie LYNCH initially with George and Mary HEASLIP and later for some years with Thomas E DISSETTE (grandson of Abigail LYNCH) and his wife Margaret HEASLIP.

Annie LYNCH is my g-grandmother and identified the DISSETTE family as well as the BOULTON family (all descendants of Abigail LYNCH) as cousins and members of her family.

  • I am related to Abigail Lynch through the Boutlons and Dissettes.

Her daughter, Margaret Dissette, wife of William Boulton, is my 2nd Great Grandmother.

The family tree is well mapped out on Ancestry.ca -- and we have an old Boulton / Dissette Bible from about 1850 that maps out who is who.

I would be interested in any information that you find out.
