My family emigrated from BallyDuff in the 1890s but kept contact until the 1930s or so.  Didn't know if there was anyone left who also had Crowley ties from BallyDuff.  Hoping to visit in the next year or two and see the town where they were from.  Suppose to be a little farm towards Ardoughter.  There were 15 children in the family and all emigrated to the same place in America but one went back to work the farm.  Remarkable people from all the stories passed down to me and Im sure people there are still just as remarkable today!

  • sorry for not getting back for awhile. My family names include William Crowley (born before 1850) and his children Mary, Maurice, Johanna, Katherine, Jeremiah, Michael ( my great grandfather) , Francis or Frank, Bridget, Jane, Ellen and Patrick.  Patrick moved back to take over the farm. Michael, his wife Nora and one of their daughters Josephine would come back to visit.  My Aunt Noreen really wanted to go too but she would have to mind the house and little store they owned.  Thank you!
