I see that there is an international reunion planned for Brosnan / Brosnahan at Castleisland, Tralee, East KERRY.

While transcribing the Carrigaholt, southwest Co.Clare Catholic Baptism & Marriage Registers of 1852-1878,  I came across two isolated 'visitors' to the area, written as Bresnehan, Brosnan & Brosnahan.

If anyone is interested in connecting to these two, could you please email me at MURRAY@GINNANE.CO.NZ  especially with an accurate version of the Sponsor's name which is something like "Ellen Shalloe" ?  Also what became of them, where married, where born, where buried, etc.  just to help complete my transcription?

======
OCTOBER 2nd 1869   Baptised baby: ELLEN BROSNAN from DOONAHA , later at Tullaroe?

Sponsor: ELLEN SHALLOE ??            Priest: Fr M M

[  Parents’ {Tim & Bridy} marriage cannot be found near Carrigaholt, Co.Clare. ]

DEC 24th 1871   Baptised baby: MARGARET BROSNAHAN from TULLAROE ?, were at Doonaha

Brosnan is equivalent to Brosnahan.

A visiting priest, Fr L. Brosnahan , perhaps Laurence / Lawrence / Larry , perhaps from Brosna Road, CastleIsland, Tralee, East Kerry, performed one Baptism in the Carrigaholt, Co.Clare Register, on New Year’s Day, Jan 1st 1878.

  • Thank you for the info. , Joseph.   I can't see a match there,  but the more info out in public, -- the more loose ends can be tied up?    MMG
