I can trace my ancestors to Matthew Larkin (1773-1856) and his brother James Larkin ( 1778-1873) of Duagh. They moved to west Limerick about 1820.

On a recent visit to the old burial ground in Duagh I found the grave of John Larkin (1775-1859). Can anyone tell me if he was a third brother  and if there are any Larkin's living in Duagh parish today.

  • Dear Staridian:

Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.

There was a Larkin family living in the Lisroe townland of Duagh in the 1911 Census.

You might check with the parish office in Duagh about the possibility of any Larkins still there or descendants.  The email address for the parish office in Duagh is:  duagh@dioceseofkerry.ie

If you have any further questions, please contact us.

    Kind regards,
