Hello Lisa, have a look at www.kerrylaburials.ie dont see a record for Denis & Ellen in Kenmare but there is a contact facility on the site. It is the County Councils who look after the graveyards mostly in Ireland. They may be interred in location other than Kenmare.

Thank you very much for your response. I have been on that site many times but did not consider contacting the facility itself. I will definitely try that. I will be visiting Ireland in May and I'm hoping to be able to find the burial sites before then so I can visit.

Lisa:
I would e-mail the church and see what information they can share. There is an old Kenmare Cemetery and perhaps one or both of your great-grandparents were buried there.

Dear Lisa, we would love to know if you managed to find the graves. In my own family, there were no headstones erected until the early 1900s. In one case an attempt was made to record the dates of death in the late 1800s and in the other there was no one alive who could give the dates.
Warm wishes
Martine
