I'm seeking to know whether there are any descendants of a Hannafin(sp?) family who lived in Ballymacaquim East, Killahan civil parish in and around 1912 or thereabouts. Jeremiah Hannafin married my great grandaunt Margaret Donoghue, on February 18, 1912 in the Catholic chapel at Causeway. They had two children that I know about, John and Daniel ...there may be more that I have yet to find. The two sons were born between 1912 and 1913.
I haven't as yet found anything further on any of the family but I wonder if the sons, John and Daniel might have married and remained in Ireland to raise their families. I'm also wondering what happened to Margaret and her husband. I don't believe that they emigrated. Two of Margaret's brothers including my great grandfather Jeremiah Donoghue did emigrate to Holyoke, MA.
Margaret also had a brother James who never married and two sisters who did and who all remained in Eire. The parents were James Donoghue and Honorai Long and they were originally from Dromartin.

KerryOkie:
Welcome back!
I located the 1912 and 1913 birth records for John and Daniel. The Irish government has released the images of civil records for free at www.irishgenealogy.ie You can use this site to see if you can locate marriages records for John and Daniel. I looked for a death record for Jeremiah and found a possible record in 1952.

Hello Roger,
Can't remember whether I ever thanked you for your response but if not, thank you belatedly.
I have not found any marriage records for either John or Daniel. The death record for Jeremiah seems promising as the informant was his son, John. Looks like the death occurred in East Commons, Ardfert...would you know the most likely cemetery to be used for that area ? Perhaps there's a gravestone with Margaret's information as well.
