I have a question about Birth and Marriage records. I have found the marriage record for Philip Sullivan/ Catherine Connor marriage date of 7 Feb 1803 in Tiernaboul, Killarney, County Kerry I am trying to find a clue as to who Catherine's parents might be. On the record it list as witness J Connor and Daniel Kerrisk in the 1800's are these witness usually family? I have also found the birth records for Philip and Catherine's children and the sponsors on several of them are Timothy Kerrisk, Daniel Kerrisk, Mary Sullivan and Mary Connor. Could these be family names of relatives?
The Children's names are:
Michael Baptized 26 Sept 1821
Catherine Baptized 11 Oct 1818
Julia Baptized 17 Jul 1813
Philip Baptized 25 Oct 1814
All in Teernaboul, Killarney, Kerry
Any help or thoughts would be great.
Thanks
Pat

Pat:
Generally family members were witnesses and sponsors at marriages and baptisms but sometimes friends were involved particularly at a marriage.
The subscription site Roots Ireland has a June 19 1775 baptismal record at Killarney RC church for a Catherine Connor. Father was John Connor and mother Catherine Donoghue. Not sure if this record is for the Catherine who married in February 1803.

Roger,
I just logged onto Roots Ireland and that record does not come up? Interesting not sure why. I Just did a search on Ancestry and found a birth for Catherine Connor Baptism date of 5 June 1785 RC Killarney with the same parents. This date seems better and I do have J Connor on a couple of the kids Baptism records. Maybe.
Thanks for the help
