My great great grandmother Honora(Nora) Rohan was born and baptized in 1848 in Castlegregory....her parents Timothy Rohan and Johanna Moore lived in Deelis close by to Castlegregory. My research has found no other siblings of Nora. She married Michael Crean from Candeeha(sp?) in 1867 in Castlegregory.
Over the following years, Michael Rohan and Mary Moynihan were sponsors at the baptism of at least one of Nora's children and Michael Crean and Nora were sponsors for children of Michael and his wife Mary. Also, John Rohan and his wife Mary Bowler were sponsors for some of Nora's children.
I'm thinking that Michael Rohan and John Rohan may have been cousins of Nora so I'd like to know more about them....I've found Michael and Mary and family in both the 1901 and 1911 census records in Deelis, Kerry. In the 1911 census, one of Michael's daughters, Catherine was listed as married to Michael Collins so I'd like to learn more about that Collins family as well to include the possibility of living cousins of the Rohan family.

Dear Ed, I think the fastest way for you to move forward would be to search via directory enquiries or phone books if your local library has access to them, for your surnames around Castlegregory. Although people can be cautious initially, they are often extremely helpful.
I will add these names to my book and when I next meet my contact in Castlegregory I will ask her if she knows your family. She is a very busy person and it is not easy to find a good time to meet her as our meetings are never short!
