Ellen
Ellen remarried 19 May 1850 to Robert Goggin Sr. (b. Ireland 1815 – d. 1877 McHenry Co., Illinois, USA) She moved to Minnesota after Robert Sr. died. Ellen’s parents names are possibly James Callahan 1792-1877 and Julia Clifford 1795-1883 but not certain at all.

Patricia, thank you so much for your help!
I have seen the records but am so unsure if I should be looking for the name John or Daniel. But the only records that can be found seem to be for Daniel and Ellen — not John. But then Ellen's last name is always different. Do you believe these are my people and Ellen is the same person in each record?
What/where is GURTNAG?
There was never a girl mentioned so that's a very interesting find!
Thank you again,
Missi

Hello Missy,
Hello from New York.
I believe "Laharn" is actually Laharan (see https://www.townlands.ie/kerry/). Gurtntag may be a misspelling; again, see the townland list for Kerry.
It looks like Patrick's baptism confirms his parents' names. The "John" you saw in a death record...that was information supplied by a third party, who may have been misinformed, confused, grieving, etc. Death record info--parents' names, age, time lived in the country where the death occurred, etc.-- is often incorrect, unfortunately; sometimes the only thing you can be sure of is that someone died!
Also keep in mind that the sons named their first sons Daniel.
I hope this is helpful.

My Great grandmother is named Annie (Johana) McGillicuddy and father listed as Daniel McGillicuddy, Fisherman.
She married Thomas Conroy in Dingle on the 9th January 1897 and died in 1903 post partum in Midleton.
Not sure if there is any connection with your McGillicuddy.
