I have been trying to find any information on my GGGrand-Dad born approx 1856 in Ireland , I have a copy of his Marriage Certificate of 1885 in Liverpool . It states his Father was Patrick then deceased occupation being a blacksmith , a Witness at the Wedding was a Geoffrey ( Jeoffrey ) Sheridan who I believe drowned on the Lusitania 1915 he was from County Mayo .
Can anyone help please ?

Hi Tony...I have a book on the Lusitania and it mentions a Geoffrey Sheridan fireman aged 50, son of the late anthony and mrs. sheridan, husband of clara sheridan (nee Blundell) of 67, Strand Rodd, Bootle, Liverpool. born in ireland... I know it is not news on the person you require, but maybe it might help in some shape or form.

Thanks for replying , I did have these details, I mentioned County Mayo in my original message in the hope it my " ring a few bells " on my own request because the main problem I have is not knowing what part of Ireland my own Family originate from , this despite trying to find without any luck .

John may have been born in 31st January 1856 in Kilbrean baptised Killarney Parish Church , Father was Patrick Donoghue , Mother Mary Crowley .
Any further help would be appreciated please .
