I know that my great great grandfather, Roger Sullivan, left from Cork on the ship Swan in 1848, according to the family Bible. I believe his wife was Catherine Moynihan and that the ship was bound for Boston. My grandfather always claimed he was from Cork but when we found the gravestone in NY it reads "Natives of County Kerry, Ireland". This is all we know. I am hoping that we can find out more.
Thanks so much.

Dear Christine, there are many Kerry parishes bordering on Cork parishes. It is quite feasible that a family would live in one county and worship in another.
This is a link to the Roger Sullivan's online
If you check on the left you will see the numbers for Cork & Ross and Kerry.
Have you any further information? Siblings of either one of the couple, naturalisation records, childrens names, date and place of birth.
Let's try and narrow down the search.
I look forward to hearing from you again.
