Looking for Longs/Sheehans who lived in/near Castlemaine in early 1800s. My gg-grandmother Mary Long was from Castlemaine area. Not sure when she was born, but she was married to Daniel Sheehan c.1822. That records says she was from Cunnavoola. Their daughter, my g-grandmother was Abigail Sheehan, was born around 1833 in Ballytrasna (civil parish of Aglish). Abigial left when quite young, and ended up in St. Paul, Minnesota, married to Michael Sullivan (from Listowel area). Not much info on siblings except that it appears she may have had an older brother named Michael who did remain in the area. Also a sister named Johanna, born in Ballytrasna in 1841.

Hello,
we have a g grandmother, Margaret Sheehan from Clounmore, Castlemaine, born in the 1820 -30 to Dennis Sheehan and Ellen Shea. Your Daniel was very likely related ( I have been told by many elderly people living locally that all the Sheehan / Sheahans were closely related ) and there was a Daniel Sheehan west of Castlemaine in Castledrum leasing jointly with Jeremiah / Dermot, Patrick and Timothy Sheehan in the Griffith's Valuation around 1850. In the earlier Tithe Applotment books, there were a couple of Daniel Sheehan in the parish of Killorglin, which isn't too far distant.
Our Margaret came and settled in London in 1860 - 61.
