I am researching my Drury and Frawley family who lived on Tarmon Hill and Murher Parish.  Griffith's Valuation indicated Mary (Frawley) Drury was the head of household though the notebooks did mention her late husband Edmond.  I have a map that shows where Mary's family lived though I'm having trouble matching the map I have with current maps to find out exactly where it is. Any information on how Edmond died (famine casualty?) or where the old homestead was is greatly appreciated.  I can share photos, documents and the text of a diary kept by Mary's son James after he moved to Canada.  I also have some letters to James from his Frawley cousins who emigrated to America.

    Hello again!

Tarmon Hill is actually in Kilnaughtin civil parish rather than Murher parish. Kilnaughtin is just north of Murher and contains the town of Tarbert and the ferry on the Shannon which crosses over to Killimer Co. Clare. There are a number of ferry crossings every day. When I look at Google Maps it appears that Tarmon is on the N69 road before you get to Tarbert.

www.askaboutireland.ie  has Griffiths Valuation data including where houses where located within a townland. There is also a feature where you can see the same arrea today.
