I have been trying to establish the parentage (and confirmed siblings) of Daniel Healy of Ratass.  Based on his tombstone, I know his mother's name was MARGARET, but can not locate his birth certificate or baptismal certificate.  He was born between 1840-1850 based on censuses and died April 17, 1927 based on burial record. Best guess is that his mother's maiden name was HOWRAN/HOURAN/HORAN, but no marriage certificate or record.  His siblings emigrated to America: Julia (Ryan), Johanna (Donovan), and Mary (O'Brien).  I also think he had two brothers, Denis and Michael...but again, I can not establish a link between these siblings beyond antedotal.

His son, John Francis Healy, was raised by his sister's family, after the death of his mother (Bridget Broderick), and became the first firechief in Denver, Colorado.

Daniel subsequently married again - Honora Flynn, and his second family all lived in Ratass-Tralee.

I'd greatly appreciate any leads, tips, etc!!

Thank you!

Cindy

    Sorry for the delayed response.

Civil birth registrations did not start until 1864.

I looked on www.irishgenealogy.ie which is a free irish government site and has Co. Kerry baptismal records. I did not find a record in Tralee and the other nearby parish Ballymacelligott has records starting in 1866 so a baptismal record may not be available. Please look at the site also in case I missed a possible record.

Below is the civil marriage index record for the 1874 marriage of Daniel and Hanora. You can get a copy of this record from the General Register Office for around 4 euros. The record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1874.
