Hello!

I am researching the family of MICHAEL DARGAN of  Greenane/Grenane, Tipperary.  His father was JOHN DARGAN, also of Greenane.  In 1866, Michael married CATHERINE QUILLINAN of Raheen, Tipperary.  They had 10/11 children, the youngest of whom, JOHANNA DARGAN, was my grandmother.  Michael died in the late 1800s and his widow and youngest children moved to Chicago, where much of the family had gone.

I would love to hear from anyone with knowledge of the DARGAN family.  (The name shifted to DORGAN in the US).

Best,

Judy Rice

  • John Dargan rented a house and office from Richard Manseragh in Greenane in 1850 in the GRIFFITH VALUATION RECORDS. NO DARGAN  record of 1901/1901 censuses or tithe applotments of 1833-1837 in Greenane. Dargan was a popular name in Golden / Cashel area. my e mail is foxseamus@gmail.com.
