Hi there ~ I also posted this elsewhere, but would love to learn more about my great great grandather's family in Cloherane, Tuosist, County Kerry. His name was John S. Sullivan (likely O'Sullivan before moving to America). He was born on Dec. 6, 1846 to John Sullivan and Mary Sullivan (maybe had the maiden name Sullivan??). John said the "S" initial in his name didn't stand for anything but kept him from being confused with a cousin (likely named John Sullivan). He immigrated to America in 1881 thorugh New York and his wife and 4 children (born in Cork) came to Ameria on June 15, 1886.

Here are more details:

* John Sullivan and Mary Sullivan Sullivan were married in Eyeries Parish on 12 Nov, 1870 and the prior link has their marriage information. John was from Tuosist (Cloherane) and Mary was from Ardanclogan. Their priest was James O'Callaghan and their witness was Dermot McCarthy (Record #KY-RC-MA-43212, Eyeries Book #1, Entry #1).

*John S. Sullivan and Mary Sullivan Sullivan had 5 children, 4 of whom lived. John moved to America first in 1880 and Mary and children followed in 1886. They lived in Michigan and then moved to Genesee, Idaho.

John Sullivan, born Dec 22 (or 23), 1874 or 1875 (baptism Dec. 24); Sponsors Timothy Sullivan and Johanna Sheehan.

Daniel Sullivan from Ardacluggan, born May 11 or May 12, 1878 in Eyeries Parish. Father John Mother Mary Leilty (I think this was a misprint). Sponsor Jeremiah Harrington and Margaret Leilty. Priest John Murphy (Record # KY-RC-BA-231767, Book E4, Page 47, Entry #14). Daniel married my great grandmother Bridget Mary Sullivan of Cuhig (Born Feb. 1, 1882... Tuosist Parish), but I have been unable to find her baptismal record, although I found her sister Honora Sullivan, Julia Sullivan, Kate Sullivan and brother John Sullivan. Daniel died in Lewiston, Idaho.

Timothy Sullivan, of Ardclogan, born Jan 28, 1873 and baptized Feb. 3, 1873 to John Sullivan and Mary. His sponsor was Daniel Sullivan and Margaret Sullivan, and the priest was J.K. Fitzgerald. (Eyeries Book #4, page 2, Entry 2, Record # KY-RC-BA-231039). He married Catherine Loudwena Reilly and died in Spokane, Washington.

* I may have found the sibling who died... he may have been Daniel Sullivan who was born in 1877 and died in 1877 (the year before the Daniel listed above).

Any insight you can give me on my great grandfather and his Irish or American family would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
