Hello, I am searching for information regarding my 3rd great grandparents.  They were Sarah (b.1788)  and John b.1786) McPeck.  According to obituaries from the New York Herald in 1869 and 1877 both were natives of Monellan, "Donnaghmore", Donegal.  They had atleast two sons Hugh (b. abt. 1835) and John (b. abt. 1845).  I believe that Hugh and John were both born prior to immigrating to the US.  I have not been able to find out any immigration information as of yet.  I am hoping to see if there are any McPeck/McPike families still in the area.  According to the 1826 Tithe Applotments there was a James and John McPike in Monellan.

Thank you.

Aileen

  • Catholic would have been their religion.  They were buried from a RC church in Flushing, NY.

  • OK check some of the links on our page.

The local RC Church is called St Patricks and records date back to 1840.

Also, check on our 'news' page for official births, deaths and marriage records.
